The following terms are all related to housing.Most colleges in America provide housing for students.There are a variety of terms which are used to describe life in these housing facilities(设备，便利).

　　1.Dorm(dormitory的缩写):The widely-used slang(俚语)word for dormitory,the on-campus housing provided for students.

　　2.Double:A double is a dorm room designed to accommodate(容纳，供应) two people.Depending on its current occupancy, it may be called a double-single(one person living in it) or a double-triple(three people living in it).

　　3.RA: Residential Assistant(学生公寓管理员). A student in charge of supervising dorm life.There is usually one of these for every hall or floor. He or she reports back to the RD.

　　4.RD: Residential Director(学生公寓总监).The adult in charge of overseeing all aspects of dorm life. He or she is in charge of all the RAs and, frequently, student activities.
